ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETINGS

The Advisory Council meets at 7:00 PM, on the second Tuesday of each month, beginning in September and ending in June. Non-members are welcome to address the council on any topic that has an impact on school in general, or any individual department at the school, during the “Open-Chair” portion of the Council’s monthly meetings, which runs from 7:00 to 7:15. Notification of intent to address the Advisory Council, is preferred, but not necessary; and can be accomplished by sending an email (with your name and a brief description of your “open-chair” topic). Comments or suggestions to the Advisory Council are also welcome.

PURPOSE OF THE WSHS ADVISORY COUNCIL

The primary purpose of the Woodbridge Senior High School (WSHS) Principal’s

Advisory Council (AC) is to develop, implement, and evaluate the Five-Year School Plan. The Five-Year School Plan is the document that identifies the operational goals and objectives of WSHS, within the framework established for the district. The secondary purpose of the WSHS Advisory Council is to help identify issues effecting WSHS and recommend possible solutions.

THE MISSION OF THE WSHS ADVISORY COUNCIL

The mission of WSHS is to provide an educational program that enables each student to achieve his or her highest potential. The school’s program of studies is designed to provide each student with an opportunity to achieve academic success, to develop mentally and emotionally, and to appreciate and accept the responsibilities of citizenship in the community, the state, and the country. The community from which the student body and the staff are drawn is constantly changing. To fulfill the mission of WSHS in a changing environment requires clarity of goals and objectives. The mission of the Advisory Council is to provide advice and comment to the WSHS administration on issues pertaining to individual departments, or the school as a whole, or relative to achieving the school’s goals through the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Five-Year School Plan.
